This Black Pepper Chicken Curry is a comforting, aromatic dish with bold flavors from our signature Black Chicken Masala. The coarsely ground black pepper gives it a distinctive warmth while the creamy gravy makes it perfect for pairing with rice or naan.

Ingredients

Chicken pieces500g
Namma Nati Black Chicken Masala2 tbsp
Onions (pureed)2 large
Tomatoes (pureed)2 medium
Ginger-garlic paste1 tbsp
Fresh cream2 tbsp
Coarsely ground black pepper1 tsp
Oil3 tbsp
Fresh corianderfor garnish
Saltto taste

Instructions

Prep Work

Clean the chicken and pat dry. Puree onions and tomatoes separately. Keep all ingredients ready for quick cooking.

Cook Onion Base

Heat oil in a pan. Add onion puree and cook on medium heat until golden brown and oil separates, about 8-10 minutes.

Add Aromatics & Masala

Add ginger-garlic paste, sauté for 2 minutes. Add Black Chicken Masala and cook for a minute until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes & Chicken

Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates. Add chicken pieces, mix well, and cook covered for 15-18 minutes.

Finish the Curry

Add coarsely ground black pepper and fresh cream. Simmer for 5 minutes. Adjust salt and garnish with coriander.

  • Coarsely ground pepper gives better flavor than fine powder
  • Add cream at the end to prevent curdling
  • Cooking onions until golden is key to the curry's depth
